We’re back with Upcoming Feature Highlight #2 to share some of the advancements we have on the drawing board for AXIS!
Here are more things you can look forward to in the near future:
FBT in VR with Only 4 Nodes
This is a BIG one – you can soon enjoy a streamlined experience with just 4 nodes when using AXIS in conjunction with a VR headset and controllers, making it easier to dive into the virtual realm. That’s right, we’ll halve the minimum requirement to play VR FBT games, which means more gametime!
Hip Node Flexibility
Currently, users utilize an Android Phone (the AXIS Hub) positioned on the hip for room positional tracking. Leveraging the tracking capabilities of VR Headsets, we are evolving our system to offer you enhanced flexibility. Soon, you can opt to replace the AXIS Hub with an AXIS node or even forgo the hip node altogether when using AXIS alongside a VR headset. These adaptations are crafted to align with your comfort and convenience, allowing you to personalize your AXIS setup more than ever before.
17-Node Configuration
To AXIS Content Creator Kit users! Brace yourselves for an enhanced experience with an increase to a 17-node configuration, promising even greater granularity during your virtual adventures.
AXIS Hub Positioning
You will soon have the freedom to position the AXIS Hub to face the front instead of the back, providing a more personalized setup. No more worrying about not having enough space behind you as you game in VR with AXIS!
Numerous UX Improvements
Taking a page from the words of an elder statesman from our own team (me): “less time fiddling, more time enjoying.” This is why we’ve worked hard on refining your setup experience through the AXIS Control Center with a myriad of enhancements! Here’s one example: AXIS Control Center will soon automatically generate realistic limb lengths based on the height input within the Profiles page, paving the way for a smoother, faster, and more intuitive setup process.
