Software Installation

This section provides step-by-step instructions on how to install VTKD software on your Microsoft Windows system and your Android virtual reality headset.

VTKD Software and Firmware Versions (as per Mar 2024)

*These are the specfic AXIS Node and Dongle firmware versions that are compatible with the VTKD Game – Version 1.0.0. Other firmware versions may not be compatible.

Installing VTKD (Game Master) Software on PC

  • Download the VTKD Software.zip folder from the provided link.
  • Double-click on the zipped folder “#183-VTKD…”.

  • Extract the game file, “#183-VTKD…”, onto your desktop.

  • Open the extracted game folder “#183-VTKD…” followed by the “WindowsClient” folder.
  • Run the “Client” file to start the game.

  • Click on “Allow” to allow public and private networks to access the app.

  • You may now access the main menu by clicking “Start”.

  • The game is successfully installed on your PC. You may now close the game.

Installing VTKD (Player) Software on Pico

  • Turn on the headset with the button on the right side of the visor.

  • With the headset on, click on the Pico ‘Home Button’ on the controller to bring up the dock. Select the ‘Quick settings’ icon in the bottom right corner of the menu tray.

  • Select the ‘Settings’ icon, in the top right corner and navigate to the ‘Developer’ button.
    • Click here for a guide (or see this video) on enabling developer settings. Once Developer settings are enabled, the Developer tab should appear in Settings.

  • Turn on ‘USB Debug’.
  • Click on ‘USB Connection’ and select ‘File transfer’.

  • Connect the Pico 4 to the PC. Your Pico 4 should now appear as a drive on your PC.

  • Open the VTKD Software folder on your desktop and then “Android_ASTCClient” folder.

  • Open the “android_easy_install” to install the software on your Pico.

  • The installation image below should appear.

  • Upon completion of the installation, the window will indicate ‘installation successful’. You can now ‘press any key to continue’ to close the command prompt.

  • Repeat the above steps for all other Pico headsets.
